
Suzanne Pleshette, born January 31, 1937, passed away January 19, 2008, in the United States. She was an American film television, theatre, and voice actress. Pleshette started out in theatre. She was in films in late 1950s. Later, she became a prominent actor in movies like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). Later, she appeared in various television productions, and was often acting as a guest. She played Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 through 1978 which earned her several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City on the 31st of January in 1937. The parents of the couple were Jewish and were the descendants of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was the stage director at the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, and the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
