April Ross

April Ross is only one of the beach volleyball players to have won medals at least twice in an Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic gold medal. There is a chance that this is her only chance at winning, as she's 39 old. Still confident but she is not sure. Ross told NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, or even a good game her team could win a gold medal. "I'm planning to test some luck." Ross was born on the 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She resided there with her family. Her athletic career began at Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of activities. She played basketball and ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits as a pre-collegiate athlete. She stood out however in this sport. As a high school volleyball career in her university profile, she played as an outside-hitter, middle-blocker and setter. Her efforts were recognized when she was named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions Player of the Year. The year 2000 was the time she won the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross and Klineman are doing what they do from 2017. The reality is that Ross was an important player on the beach volleyball circuit prior to the pair. Actually Ross has won a number of major tournaments in her career along with her two teammates. One of them is a volleyball legend. Between 2007 and 2013 she was in a partnership with Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Together together with Kessy Ross was awarded the World Championship in 2009 while competing on the international circuit. This duo went through to take home a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she retired. The duo went on to earn the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Following high school, and for a few many years before hitting the beach as a professional Ross balled out with the Trojans of USC as an NCAA. Her career was a success in college. In 2000 she was voted Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman Of The Year and an All-American. Additionally, she was one of the key players to help the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. The second season of her career she suffered a devastating personal loss, yet managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. Through her two final years in the Trojans program, she guided them to a national title every time. In 2003-04, Ross was named the best female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in the United States according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross studied at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross achieve beach volleyball's top level. In 2001 when Ross was in her sophomore year studying at USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. But, she will always remember her deceased parent close and close. Margie is a source of inspiration, both off and on at the beach.
